Eagle Scouts Troop 1876 is proud to have awarded the Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Scouting to the following:
Scoutmasters
First Aid Training Many Scouts and adults in Troop 1876 are certified in Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED use. Some of our adults also have additional first aid training. Jim Auslen, Scoutmaster (Eagle Scout) Mr. Auslen became our Scoutmaster in March 2007. He previously served as the First Assistant Scoutmaster and Life to Eagle Advisor. Before joining our troop, he founded Pack 547 and served as a Cubmaster for eight years. He has also served as Pack 547 Assistant Cubmaster and Charter Organization Representative. Prior to his service at Pack 547, he served as Cubmaster of Pack 234 and Assistant Scoutmaster at Troop 48. Mr. Auslen has also been awarded training knots for Scouter, Cubscouter, and Cubmaster. He is a member of the Order of the Arrow. He is an Eagle Scout. Chris Pedersen, Committee Chair (Eagle Scout) Chris Pedersen earned his Eagle Scout in 1988 with Troop 276 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado and was elected as an Arrowman of the Mic-O-Say Lodge of the Order of the Arrow. Chris has completed Boy Scout Leader Specific Training and Is CPR certified. JoDee McKenney, First Assistant Scoutmaster and Scoutmaster Emeritus Mrs. McKenney was our Scoutmaster from June 2003 to March 2007. She previously served as the First Assistant Scoutmaster. Prior to joining our troop, she was a Committee Chair and Den Leader with Pack 575. She also spent time as an Assistant District Commissioner for the Gateway District. JoDee has completed Scoutmaster training and is a member of the Order of the Arrow. She is CPR and Wilderness First Aid certified. Also, she recently was Woodbadge trained! Jeff Smith, Scoutmaster (Eagle Scout) Mr. Smith has been an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 1876 since early 2006 and answers to the names of Mr. Smith, Heffe, and Dude. He is currently mentoring Life rank Scouts in their advancement efforts toward the rank of Eagle Scout, BSA's highest rank advancement. Mr. Smith was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout at Troop 130 in Golden, Colorado, some time way back in the 1980s between the demise of disco and the rise of hair bands. Mr. Smith was involved with Scouting as a youth first as a Cub Scout/Webelo, moving on to becoming a Boy Scout, and then helping create Explorer Post 130 (co-ed Scouting now known as Venturing). Mr. Smith was the Awards Chairperson for one year and Cub Master for Pack 475 here in Arvada for two years prior to joining Troop 1876. He assisted as a volunteer parent with Pack 475 for a number of years while his two sons advanced through Cub Scouting on their way to Boy Scouting. James Koerlin, Assistant Scoutmaster (Eagle Scout) James Koerlin is an Engineer and also an Eagle Scout. He was inducted into the Order of the Arrow as a scout. He was an Assistant Den leader and Cub Master in Pack 575. James loves scouting, camping, woodworking and knots. Vince Stenerson, Assistant Scoutmaster Vince is an Assistant Scoutmaster and Equipment Coordinator. Prior to joining our troop, Vince was a Den Leader with Pack 475. Vince has completed Scoutmaster training. Vince is a member of the Order of the Arrow. He is CPR certified. Tom Brown, Assistant Scoutmaster Tom Brown is our Advisor for the troop's older boy Venture program and also serves as the First Assistant Scoutmaster. Tom is a former Webelos Leader with Pack 51. Tom is a member of the Order of the Arrow. Tom has completed Scoutmaster training and is CPR certified. Gary Counts, Assistant Scoutmaster Mr. Counts was Assistant Den Leader for Den 11 of Pack 475. He was Den
Leader for Den 8 of Pack 475. He also served as Co-Treasurer (along with
his lovely wife) for Pack 475. Mr. Counts enjoyed being the Pinewood Derby
Chair. He is now an Assistant Scout Master for Troop 1876. He became Alpha
Dog at the 2003 Ben Delatour summer camp. Members of his own family
disagree with this title (Alpha Dog). This is just wrong. Mr. Counts has Andy Bjorlow, Assistant Scoutmaster Mr. Bjorlow was an Assistant Den leader for Den 10 in Pack 528 for three years. He has been Baloo trained for Webelos and became Assistant Scoutmaster this past winter Mr. Bjorlow has completed Boy Scout Leader Specific Training and is CPR certified. Sheila Brown, Committee Chair Emeritus Sheila was Troop Committee Chair for several years. She is also a commissioner for the Gateway District. Sheila is the former Cubmaster of Pack 51 in Coal Creek Canyon. Sheila has completed troop committee and scoutmaster position trainings.
