Shop with Scrip — Free Money

It's no longer an oxymoron!

I’m here to tell you about a fundraiser where you can earn FREE MONEY for your Scout’s account!  Yes, that’s right.  Money earned is absolutely F-R-E-E.  The only catch is that you have to plan what you spend and where you spend it.

This program is a gift card purchasing program.  You will hear it called a “Scrip Program” in most circles.  As a participant, you are exchanging cash (or check as the case may be) for gift cards to places that you frequent most in your shopping journeys.  Places such as Starbucks, Safeway, King Soopers, Kohl’s, Chipotle, Burger King, and so much more!  These gift cards spend just like cash at the establishments for which they are issued.  Best part is you can do this on a weekly basis and earn LOTS.  I paid for a garage door with scrips (gift cards) this summer, along with buying gas for my large SUV, visiting Starbucks, eating at Chipotle and I earned $497.05 in 3 months!  TOTALLY COOL!

Buying Scrip

1. Sign up with our online ordering system at http://www.shopwithscrip.comin the orange member's login box. Use the registration code AA92L66L6795. 
2. Under the Profile section, make sure you fill in your Scout’s name under Student and Troop 1876 under Teacher.
3. Follow the instructions for choosing your gift cards and placing them in your shopping card.
4. Take a print out of your order confirmation and a check to Diane Counts at the Tuesday Troop meeting. Make checks out to "Troop 1876"
5. Come to the troop meeting the following Tuesday to pickup your scrips.  If there is no troop meeting, make arrangements with Diane Counts to pick them up after Wednesday.

Inside your envelope with your scrips you will find a receipt showing how much you’ve earned with your purchase (minus a 1% fundraiser operation fee – we have to pay for shipping somehow).  Simple as that.

I’ve already used my Marriott card for this week and earned a whopping 12% for a trip to Colorado Springs!!  And I ate at Chili’s (okay, maybe Fazoli’s, too).  Chili’s has an 11% discount and Fazoli’s has a 7% discount.  Ooo!  And I didn’t forget my Starbucks!  That purchase is also a 7% discount!

In using this program over just a 3 month time frame, I’ve done everything from grocery shopping to putting fuel in my SUV to having my daily cup of coffee.  I even bought a new garage door with it!  And in just 3 months time, I’ve earned almost $500!

WHOA!!!  You mean this program works THAT well?  You better believe it.  And all those things above that I just mentioned are things that I’d be spending money out of my checkbook on anyway.

Since the next order goes through this Sunday, don’t hesitate to get signed up and get your order placed.  You wouldn’t want to lose any sleep thinking about what you *could have* been earning and fulfilling that “Scout is Thrifty” law.
