Big News!

Polar Bear* Count Winter Season 2012-2013

When we were camping out at Fraser, COon January 12-13, 2013 we all received Polar Bear badges because the temperature was -23 degrees. This was a new low temperature record for the troop.

*A Polar Bear award requires camping outside and cooking a meal in sub-zero temperatures. It's one of the ultimate tests of camping fortitude and determination. Some of our boys have 6 or more and Tom Brown has done this more than 14 times.

Denver Scout Show

Troop 1876 is going to be at the 2013 Denver Scout Show on April 27, 2013; 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the National Western Stock Show Complex, Hall of Education located at 4655 Humboldt St Denver, CO 80216.

Troop 1876 has been helping to support our troops stationed all around the world for many years. Thanks to Danny H. for his hard work organizing our efforts to send care packages to our men and women troops stationed abroad. We want to show them how grateful we are for the sacrafices they are making for our freedoms. Please contact us at supportourtroops@troop1876.org if you would like to join us in sending care packages and supplies to our soldiers.

We meet every Tuesday from 7:00p.m. to 8:30p.m. at the Susan M. Duncan YMCA (64th and Eldridge in Arvada) in the community room. We go on monthly campouts to places all over Colorado and the West. If you have any questions at all or if you would like to visit one of our troop meetings, please email Scoutmaster David Tjarks and Senior Patrol Leader Weston S. at scoutmaster@troop1876.org.

We love to camp, hike, and especially backpack, like in this picture from Philmont, a 105 mile backpacking trip our troop took this summer.
