What's the big deal?

A.K.A. the 8 reasons in no particular order why you should go to the 2010 National Jamboree.

Jamboree is one of the greatest events in a Scouting career! But if that's not enough to convince you to go...

Action Centers offer all sorts of awesome activities: Action Alley (This is an Army obstacle course turned Boy Scout obstacle course, including a zip line!), Air-Rifle Shooting, Archery, Bikathlon (An awesome combination of biking and shooting), Buckskin Games (Everything from hat branding, to bull whips, to blackpowder rifle shooting), Confidence Course (Did anyone say ropes course? This course has all sorts of high ropes and low ropes fun), Bicycle Motocross, Mountaineering, Pioneering, Rappelling Tower, Trapshooting

National Exhibits include exhibits from Boys' Life, the Scouting Museum, Order of the Arrow, and more!

Aquatics abound at the two Jamboree lakes, including: Canoe Slalom, Canoe Sprint, Discover SCUBA (Earn the BSA SCUBA patch), Kayak Fun, Racing Shell Fun, Raft Encounter, Snorkel Search, Fishing

Merit Badge Midway offers the opportunity to earn almost any merit badge, with the exception of about twenty-ish! Not to mention, they all have awesome resources to make earning merit badges even more fun than they already are!

Camping at Jamboree turns into a huge mass of tents, gateways, and patrol cooking sites divided by troops into 20 subcamps, sprawling Ft. AP Hill.

Arena Shows twice in the week give Scouts the opportunity to see the awesome talents of other campers. Not to mention...surprises!

Pretour of somewhere in the East coast before the Jamboree! The area around Ft. AP Hill is full of historically significant and amazingly fun sites and the Denver contingent (not to mention most of the Jamboree) will amass at these places! Past tours have included Washington, D.C. and New York.

And more! Jamboree also has...a 5K race, its own newspaper, a radio station Scouts control, patch training (one of the biggest attractions), military activities, patrol cooking, disabilities awareness, and so much more!

One of the Jamboree's most popular activities--patch trading--attracts thousands of Scouts every day.
