NEW! Troop 1876 on Shutterfly

We are happy to announce the new Troop 1876 photo site at...

http://troop1876photos.site.shutterfly.com

When you arrive at the site you will be prompted for a password, which is
1876

Guidelines for Posting:

If you post a photo, comment, or caption anywhere on the site, you accept the following terms:

  1. Photos posted must be Scout appropriate. If you wouldn't show it to your grandma, don't post it!
  2. Photos must be Scout-related. If you would like somewhere to post personal photos, go ahead and make your own site.
  3. Any comments or captions must be Scout appropriate!
  4. No comments or captions can include the last name of a Scout! This violates BSA rules, so don't post the names.
  5. Please keep comments and captions friendly and follow the Scout Oath and Law. Just because you say something in fun (i.e. "This is so-and-so being a jerk") won't mean that when that person reads it he will think it's funny.

If you post things that violate these terms, your photos could be deleted from the site. Just keep it Scout Appropriate and remember to follow the Scout Oath and Law.

Below are hints and how-tos. If you still have questions, please email us at webmaster@troop1876.org or talk to the webmaster at a Troop Meeting.

How to Become a Member:

  1. With your parents' permission, click "Sign in" in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
  2. Then, click the "Join Now" button to create a Shutterfly account.
  3. You will need to give the computer your name and email and a password you want to use.
  4. Once you have recieved confirmation that you have a Shutterfly account, email webmaster@troop1876.org with your name, the email you used to sign up for Shutterfly and tell us you want to become a photo site member.
  5. Within a few days you should recieve an email that says you have become a member of Troop 1876 Photos.  Now you can post photos anywhere on the site!

How to Post Photos:

  1. First you must become a member (see above).
  2. Find the appropriate page to post your photos to. Pages are divided by court of honor, so "Summer" is June-August, "Fall" is Septmber-November, "Winter" is December-February and "Spring" is March-May. Some pages may be hidden under a menu item called "More." Just put your cursor on it and they will appear in a list.
  3. Once on that page you should see a section for the photos you want. If you don't see an appropriate section, it probably belongs in "Miscellaneous," which is where anything except campouts and other major events goes. There are sections for Troop Meetings, Service Projects, OA Events and "Other."
  4. Click "Add Album." If the photos have already been uploaded to your personal Shutterfly account they should be accessible in the drop-down menu. Otherwise click the "Upload" tab to load your pictures.
  5. Now, just give your album a name (perhaps something like "So-and-so's Photos" or you could get more creative) and you're done!

How To Save Other People's Photos

  1. To save the pictures to your personal Shutterfly account (if you have one) so you can order prints, etc. simply click "Save Pictures," check the boxes under the pictures you want to save, and click "Save now."
  2. To save pictures to your computer, hover your cursor over the photo and click "Download this picture..."
